Pityesz: That is the usual dilemma in the case of long runnig series. Ys games luckily not really build on one another so you miss nothing no matter where you start. :)

Then you're better get the artbook or developer's note. There is barely any details in the games and most of the infos on Wikipedia is from those collector items. XD

Well, Ys 8 and 9 explain things a bit more compared to the earlier games though Ys 9's story isn't that deep. Maybe the Ys games start to have more story details from now on just like the other Falcom games do. :)

Well that's good enough. I'ts difficult to find jrpg on GOG, so if ys can improve on that, it's more than appreciated. XD
