This one has a different publisher (NIS America). XSEED was very invested in bringing stuff to GOG. We have to see, if NISA will do the same. But as far as I know, their PC releases have all been bound to Steam.

However maybe Falcom has a say in this as well. At least Falcom's Gurumin has been published by Mastiff and has found its way to GOG nonetheless. Even if Mastiff is not supporting GOG with other games.

I really hope to keep seeing Falcom's games on gog, XSEED was pretty awesome to get on gog.

Unfortunately, it seems that NISA is unwilling to release Ys VIII on GOG according to this Steam thread. Apparently, they also addressed the issue earlier this year during an announcement stream, but this just provides further proof that a DRM-free release is unlikely. Can't say I'm surprised though, since the company has had a tremendous love for Steam over other comparable platforms. *sigh*

Well, here's hoping we receive a port of Memories of Calceta in the future. I'd rather support Xseed's good practices rather than NISA's poor habits.

Yes, I hope so, too. But thankfully the other Ys-games sell prett well right now. So that is already a good start.
