On the HUD for Origin, there are two gray percentage displays. One of them of is labeled MP and AFAICT is just a numeric percentage of your available Magic Points and rises and falls correspondingly with the bar graph for MP.

The other one is labeled EX and I'm not sure what it does. I've only noticed it go below 100% a couple of times so far and it's always been when I'm at the base camp. EX will be frozen at a certain number and stay that way until I reenter the tower, where it starts to rise again before reaching 100%.

Does anyone know what this EX percentage on the HUD represents? Thanks!

I believe it represents "Boost". By pressing a certain button, you can enter boost mode, which will boost your abilities in some way until it wears off. For example, Yunica's MP consumption will be reduced, and Hugo's spells will become more powerful. It is worth noting that, when playing as the third character, you are actually required to boost early in the game in order to progress.

If you are not playing Nightmare mode, this boost will last a decent amount of time; if you *are* playing Nightmare (or if you are actually playing Oath in Felghana, which has a similar feature), the effect will be very brief.

I believe one of the help screens should tell you how to activate this ability.

Ah, you're right! The gray EX percentage is a numerical readout of your Boost Gauge. Thank you!
