I would just like to take this oppurtunity to say fuck the Illsburn ruins, fuck the flying owl creatures, fuck the floating fire things that explode when they die and fuck the teleporting mages with magic missle or whatever you want to call it. this isn't a call for help on what to do because I know I just need to grind for levels and most of all "GIT GUD". This is just me venting because after dieing several times to this place its the only thing I can do to make me feel better.

I'm affraid you will be back here, needing another venting session. Especially on the last boss. ;)

Thanks for giving such good news. Now I have something to look forward too. :/

Sorry for that, but it's just the way of the game - unless you are very good, the game proves a challange. Still - I finished it and I'm sure as hell I'm not a pro. So don't worry too much and have fun. :)
I did get to the save point, but now Chester is kicking my ass. At least progress was made.
I failed in first boss fight and I'm still considering that fight pretty tought. Still - Chester is quite similar to the first one.
When you beat him - my advice: don't try to fight the swarm. It's possible, but hard, and you can die easily. You will know when you'll find them.
Well I just had one of the the biggest I am a moron moments i've had in a long time playing video games. I tried to go through Illsburn Ruins and Chester with mostly tier one equipment. I don't know why, but I didn't realize that you could buy equipment; I thought you could upgrade equipment and find equipment only in chests. Now I have tier two and one piece of Tier three and I cut through Chester like butter.

Nah - it can happen to anyone. And it works in the other way around - I was sure the 'next boss' I had in Ys 6 would be hard, so I grinded. And as I found out - I overdid it. Nice change, after all those deaths.
If you hate the ruins and the hell under them... just listen the amazing sountrack of the ice

it would be wonderful to have the soundtrack in the extras. Great game!
If you can complete the ruins and escape, there is a way to make the next the next couple of bosses trivial.

1. Enter the next area, get the double jump, but don't fight the boss yet. (You might want to kill enemies to get experience until the enemies don't give that much.)

2. Head to the mountans (you're not supposed to go there yet, but you can with double jump). Explore that area, killing the monsters. (If you didn't level up in step 1, you might have serious difficulty and may need to save after each enemy at first.)

3. Go past the save point, past the cabin (and past a boss that doesn't spawn yet), and into the later part of the area. You will find stronger enemies to kill that in turn will allow you to level up even higher. You will eventually reach a point beyond which you can't continue.

4. Spend the money you obtained on fourth tier equipment.

5. Now, go back and play through the game as intended. The next two boss fights should be ridiculously easy, even if you are playing on Nightmare. The following boss, however, will still be a nightmare (is there a good place to level up for that boss fight?)

It may be possible to break part of Ys 6 in this way (if you can kill any of the slimes in that one cave), but not Ys Origin, which is more linear.
