I downloaded the game yesterday after realising it was on GOG.com. The reason I chose to buy from here was because I was under the impression that all GOG games were made to work more or less on modern computers. But upon trying to run it and getting a terrible slo-mo problem that others have been having, I checked the forums and 12 out of the 27 or so topics (I probably got that wrong I was in a hurry) are about the game not working correctly. That seems like a lot for a game that's being sold to customers right now, it's not like we got it from a bargain bin at a old mom-and-pop video store.

I would recommend anyone who wants to buy this game search online for a demo or something first, if there are any available. I feel as though I've completely wasted my money.

Uh, these are the support forums, you are only going to find people with problems here, but that is not at all representative of how the game works. All of us who can play it without any problems have no reason to post anything, except to try and help those who are having problems. Maybe you should try asking for help here or even submitting a support ticket to GOG directly before you give up.
Thank you so much, Tommy. I downloaded the demo and it runs in slow motion, exactly as you described. I rather agree with you that the game shouldn't have been released without a solution for this frustrating bug.

As far as I can tell, there isn't a proper fix for it. Let me know if you figure anything out.

I'm going to try running it in WinXP mode and see if that makes any difference.

EDIT: OH GAWD LOL I FORGOT HOW USELESS WINDOWS XP MODE IS.

Won't work on XP SP3 for me, just displaying a general protection fault at startup - this on both my computers, and after patching this to 1.3 first, and with the unofficial patch to 1.4. Sad, as I remember having a lot of fun with it back in the days.

I agree that I expected more, but in the end I just wasted the price of a movie. Meh.

If you are talking about the GOG version, patching it is likely your problem. All of GOG's games are already updated to the latest official patch and trying to re-apply the patches will often introduce problems. If you are going to patch it at all, you should only use the unofficial patch, but I would strongly recommend trying to run the game as it is first, just to be sure it runs. I can confirm that the game is fully capable of working on both XP SP3 and Win 7 with no problems and no extra effort.
