I was just on a mission to capture an alien officer. I shot down a corvette and was given notification that there was an alien officer on board. I had 4 soldiers just outside the door, 2 were shield and 2 behind them were assault.

Lo and behold the officer opens the door! The perfect chance to stun with my two shield guys with their stun weapons!

But it was all for naught as the assault guys both reaction fire and gun him down!
LoL, these things happen.

What also could have happened is that the (friendly) reactionfire would have killed the shield troopers and the officer would have killed the stupid reactionfire soldiers.

I remember when playing the original X-Com, on one of the first missions my inexperienced and ill equiped soldiers would gradually be wiped out and I barely won with the skin of my teeth with only one of the 14 soldiers left who was severely demoralized and badly wounded. Eventually she would become the X-Com commander.

True story. :)

ROFL, I did that like almost 3 years ago. I always keep my shield with my assault right behind them. That way they can't shoot each other.
