I'm trying to install Xenonauts in Linux wine 1.7.45. It's been over 24 hours and it hasn't finished installing (about 80%).

Is this the norm? I can see that the install is still ongoing because the game directory disk space usage keeps on increasing, albeit at a very slow rate (about 500 bytes/sec), mostly in assets sub-directory.

I wonder if the following log is any indication of a problem:
fixme:win:alloc_winproc too many winprocs, cannot allocate one for 0x6be1f6bc

On OSX it seems to have the same effect, i hope it will finish, otherwise I will try the VM and copy back way.
I've got exactly the same issue - both on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit as well as 14.04 64bit.
Just to chim in, the problem is still there, does anyone have a solution?

I finally found a solution by chance. The setup program was creating some directories in Temp folder, which included unrar.dll, so that gave me an idea.

I used unrar command to decompress setup_xenonauts_VERSION.bin file, and I had no problem running Xenonauts.exe in the extracted directory game. It didn't even need any registry entries to be added manually.

I hope in the future, they provide a native Linux port.

Post: Since one can't mark one's own post as a solution, I'm posting yours as one. Hope that's ok.

Yes, download the native Mac or Linux version from your library here on GOG :)

Yes, I just got it yesterday, and it works perfectly. This is actually the best solution for this question. Thank you.

I hope more game publishers/developers do Linux port. Miasmata and Shelter are now some of the last few remaining games that I haven't received any return on investment yet. Most other games I bought now work flawlessly under Linux, whether native or wine.
