I'm running X4 + Split Vendetta DLC on Ubuntu. Do i have to download and reinstall the entire game every patch/hotfix? Moreover, do i have to download and reinstall both the base game and DLC every time i want to get to the up-to-date patch? Does applying just the patched DLC work?

Yes :-( If there have been fixes in both the base game AND the dlc, you will have to apply both. This has been the case so far. A bit annoying with three patches within quite a short time. A Linux version of Galaxy would help with frequent updates.

Oh, it would be cool. But they don't even think about this :(
