So I just got a blue dot on X3: Terran War Pack, without a changelog, but the windows version appears to have been updated to 3.5.

Looking around on the Egosoft forums a bit, it appears that a group of egosoft-supported fans created a new version with a lot more emphasis on diplomacy e.a.

The description of X3: Terran War Pack here on gog has been updated with the following:
X3: Farnham's Legacy (2021; Game available in English and German, only on Windows)
Developed by a dedicated group of players from Egosoft's DevNet community, X3: Farnham's Legacy is a new game in the X3 space game series. Set in the years after X3: Albion Prelude, as the chaos caused by the gate shutdown really takes hold, X3: Farnham's Legacy starts very differently to previous games in the X3 series. Trapped in an isolated area of space, you'll first need to make use of the new exploration features to find your way back to civilisation. Then, once you're there, you'll be able to use the new diplomacy options to help shape your relationships with the factions you find.

* A new plot throws you into the power struggle between corporations at a time of war.
* More jobs and non-linear missions than ever before.
* More than 100 new spaceships, new ship classes and weapon systems.
* Re-designed user interface for comfortable control by mouse, keyboard and joystick.
* New Stock Exchange feature allows advanced investment strategies
* Improved UI introducing charts to visualize economic developments
The description on steam goes a bit more in detail on the new features:
Key features:
* (Almost) Everything from X3: Terran Conflict and X3: Albion Prelude
* Exploration tools and explorers guild
* Diplomacy and dynamic relations
* New drone carrier and armoured transport ships
* Player headquarters with new advanced facilities
* A unique and very special new ship
* Station-building and complex planning services
* Ship browser and hyperlinked encyclopedia
* New piracy options and gameplay
* Real sector ownership
* Improved logs and graphs
* Enhanced modding support
* Lots and lots of smaller improvements!
Farnham's Legacy does not currently have a Linux version, but they might make one (source):
Will I be able to play Farham's Legacy on my linux version of X3AP 3.3 from steam?
Maybe. We can't promise anything as our resources for this are limited and are not available at all in the short term, but we will try.

Is there a lot that is needed for a Linux version to run? I mean, all the core is there. Is this just some cat/dat files that could run with the main binary?
No, it's not a huge amount of work, but it's work nonetheless, and from someone who is extremely busy at the moment.
A Mac version has however been ruled out (source):
Sorry, but there won't be a Mac version. Even if we do manage to produce a Linux version at some point, just being "similar" to Linux doesn't really reduce the significant additional overheads associated with adapting, testing and getting a game approved for the Mac, and we simply can't afford to do that that for a free game.
There's a X3: Farnham's Legacy - Donation Pack available to "buy" on gog if you want to show extra support, with 100% of that money going to charity.

Oh, heh, there was a news post about this as well. Yeah, no, I don't usually notice those...

Oh, that's quite a nice surprise. Very promising looking list of changes indeed!

I got a 650 mb update today was that this? Thanks
I just downloaded the X3: Terran War Pack and started it. But it is only X:TC. How and where doI have to look to start Farnham Legacy?

You must be using Galaxy. That thing is still broken and you need to go into more or extra or something to choose the add-ons. I do not know exact details as I use Linux and neither this add-on nor Galaxy support Linux. Installing the game without Galaxy would make a menu item for each of the (now) three versions.

Complain to GOG support and if they are receiving thousands of complaints they just might fix Galaxy . . . . . some day soon.

Additional executables from the galaxy play page they are listed there next to the play btn.

In addition to what the other posters have said:

there is a workaround to get the game to show up on Galaxy by marking it as a favourite. I will still not show up in other views (i.e. "owned games", etc.), but at least you can click on the favourite category and launch the game from there. Same for X3:AP btw.

How to:
in "owned games", click on the big + icon at the top, add game manually, search for Farnham's Legacy, select it, then clickk on "link executable" if it shows instead of "play", find and select the x3fl.exe, then click the bookmark icon at the top.

Now you have a separate entry for X3: Farnham's Legacy in your Games list on the left.

Thanks for this. So to others not adding it to Galaxy, what you're looking for is the file X3FL.exe, in your X3 Terran War Pack folder, presumably in your GOG games folder or wherever else you may have parked it (so \Gog Games\X3 Terran War Pack, in my case).

If I were the makers I'd seek to have it show up in the game's start menu more directly, and/or as a separate startup item (the way Albion Prelude does), as I reckon lots of people are going to miss it this way.

ps I see only now the game has actually added a renewed folder entry to my start menu, including a shortcut to the Farnham expansion.

I never use those anymore (use Playnite, myself), but so it is in fact there :)

Hi!
X3: Farnham's Legacy version - 1.1 (439801) 2021-05-20 will it be released?
PS Thank you !

Apparently version 1.1 has been released, but it's available only through GogGalaxy :(

Just bought and downloaded X3 Terran War Pack yesterday, and Farnham's Legacy is still on version 1.0.

This patch is now 5 days old, why is it still not reflected in the stand-alone installer ?

edit : the patch is here now :) Thank you !

gogtrial34987: Farnham's Legacy does not currently have a Linux version, but they might make one
Further update on this:
Once we're confident that the EXE part of the game is stable and not going to receive any further updates, I will bother "the Linux guy" about when he'd be available to get this sorted out. While I can probably borrow him for one build, I very much doubt I'll get a second chance.
A patch to X3 War Pack has been released today and I had to go to steam to see what has been changed. Am I missing something or such info is simply not available on GOG?

For people wondering, it was 1.2 patch for Farnham's Legacy.

I think more than half the time there is no changelog on GOG for updates :-( I always look on Egosoft's forum for the changelogs but that works only for their games, of course. Too often there is not even a flag.

X3 Terran War Pack updated again, the Downloadable Offline Installation files are at version 3.7, presumably includes 1.2 of Farnhams .. The GOG page says it includes it anyway

https://www.gog.com/game/x3_terran_war_pack

The 1.2 FL update also "concludes development on this free update" ..
