It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

joel5330: This is really disappointing! I thought after over 3 years someone in the company who sold me a game could figure out how to run it. It's not like windows 10 is some obscure linux distro.
It's not Windows 10 that's the issue, it's the horribly outdated game codebase. Also, there's a reason why Windows 8 and 10 aren't listed as supported on the store page...
Some fixes are in another thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/worms_series/any_way_to_run_worms_2_on_windows_10 - you need a 'ReSolution' patch and a custom win32.dll to get the game working on Windows 10 if I recall correctly (it's been a while).
I had to do quite a bit to get this working but, I managed.

1. Replace the frontend.exe with the one from the official Worms 2 CD.
2. Replace the worms2.exe with the one from the official Worms 2 CD.
3. Run both of the official Worms 2 patches in order.
4. Get the "S*natch's WP - 94kB" patch. (look for it with that exact text via Google)
5. Place the patch in your Worms 2 folder
6. Run the patch and apply the No CD patch and any others you want EXCEPT the resolution ones. The resolution patches will bring the game to a crawl.
7. Ensure ALL executable files are set for compatibility with Windows XP - SP 3
8. Run from the Frontend.exe file directly, not through the GOG launcher.

Music still doesn't work but, pretty much everything else does!

IMHO Team 17 needs to work more closely with GOG on compatibility on this

Team17 doesn't care about compatibility of their old titles.

That is both a problem and a shame. People still want to play these games. There is still a demand. My 9 year old son has been having more fun with me on Worms United and Worms 2 than he has on certain modern games.

When he saw I got Worms 2 working, he chose that OVER Minecraft, which was a shock, even to me.

Wait 'til he realizes Armageddon exists. That is still supported by two authorized fans (next patch due this month) and works fine on modern systems.
Armageddon is on my wish list. :)

GaroK0: I thought GoG is supposed to actually care about their old games working, unlike steam that basically sells just a game files that you yourself have to figure out how to get to work.
So do I. Other games that I bought at GOG worked fine, although they did not run in Steam.
But this game crashes instantly.
I know that there are other games in this franchise that working, but I wanted exactly this one.
Microsoft told me for another game that it is to do with the type of security built into the game as it is a discontinued type of protection they will never fix the problem if it isnt supported in windows10. microsoft said they are not interested in reworking old technologies to work. basically told me buy an older computer and set up win 98 and away u go

Worms 2/Armageddon/World Party don't have SafeDisc. They especially don't have it on a DRM-free platform that is GOG.
I cannot get Worms 2 to even load and Worms WMD crashes and/or won't load screens correctly. I have played over 30 games on GOG and these are the first two that have not worked. It looks like other people are struggling with these also, but GOG seems to have no response.

Same for me. I just bought it, and trying to get it to run right now. Not having much luck. I'll let you know if I get it working...

Also, just found that this has been a long standing issue with no great outcome...

Ok - I have got it working and posted a fix here:
drive.google.com/file/d/1eYSgi6ewcT-a6QyFR_xYMMgJMmUkJcg4/view?usp=sharing

To get it working:
-Download the file
-Rename the extension to .zip
-Extract
-Follow instructions in i00.txt (or instructions below this point)
-Make sure the game is installed in a directory with no spaces in it
-Copy all files from "fix" to the game directory, replacing files that exist
-Merge reg.reg
-Run frontend.exe to play!

-Please give me rep ( as I cannot post links atm :( )
