They did. It looks a lot better now than it did in 1989.

But it plays as shitty. I'm trying to beat the final boss and it's a goddamn chore. This game should have stayed in the 80s.

The game is hard indeed. Sorry you didn't enjoy it :(
To beat the boss make sure you have legendary equipment, maybe equip hades armor once, etc. Game relies on a lots of small secrets that in the 80s used to be provided through the magazines.
There's a shop selling potions in the village UNDER the door that leads to the Desert. You can farm Gold in Dragon Meka room if needed.

Attention hein, je trouve le boulot sur le remaster très bien fait, c'est le gameplay du jeu original qui me sort par les trous. :P
There's actually a way to make the final boss really easy; just use the Tasmanian Sword to turn into a lion before entering the boss door. As a lion with the Muramasa Blade, the final boss will die really quickly.

Mais je respecte le travail abattu par votre studio bien sûr. :)

It seems I can't reach it anymore. Level design is really strange in this game...

You should be able to get back there. Remember that there's a place near the start (on the way to to the beach level) where you can change your form; you've probably used it before (I don't remember whether this stop was mandatory).

Yeah, I know but I have to become the bird I think no (at least to get to that door above the temple when you've killed the boss and that the game never shows you)? And then the enemies waste me, it's really not enjoyable.

No, that's not where the Tasmanian Sword is; you can get that sword as a lion (or mouse, but lion is easier).

Then I have no idea where it is. And anyway, to reach the boss I have to do all that crap first, and I feel absolutely not compelled to do so. :P

The Tasmanian Sword is in the underground area, in a dead end shortly before the temple. (It's in a hidden shop.)

Once you get the sword, you can just quit from the menu and the game will automatically save, or you could just use the sword to turn into a bird (assuming you've already unlocked that form normally) and use the same door you used after you first killed the boss.

Oh yeah, that's the place I meant!
*sigh*

Got the taz sword but couldn't get to the boss, the level before is just too stupidly randomly hard.

Where can I get potions?
