It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

You can play these games on MS-Dos archive games!

The saving option works normally! Works well on Google Chrome -browser. I could not post a link here, but by writing on google:

"MS-Dos Archive games" -you'll find Wolf3D and SOD there.

That isnt legal to play games.
You do realise that what you are suggesting is ILLEGAL?
I am not certain how is this illegal. Are you saying that the website archive.org is breaking some copyright laws? Why do they have these games playable on web browser free?

The verge -site even reported this in early this year:

Probably. The games aren't freeware.

I'd recommend people buy Wolf3D from GoG on the basis that the better the sales are, the more likely Bethesda are to release more games here.
The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization, an open library of sorts mainly focusing their efforts on "preservation". I have been following their developments for many years and I'm a huge fan of the groundbreaking work they do (I recommend reading up on some of their latest innovations - and they have massive amounts of amazing free content to browse), but occasionally some item that shouldn't be put up (because of obvious legal concerns) slips through due to a lack of proper curating. I'm sure Bethesda is probably already aware of this and cooking up a legal storm to unleash upon the poor folks over there. I'm thinking in this case it's a honest mistake, that will be rectified as soon as they are made aware of the issue.

I don't think you can actually download the games, only play them in your browser. (Which may constitute some form of legal grey area?)

It might be, I Bethesda will probably pursue it anyways. I remember there being a site where you could play the original Mario Bros in HTML5 on your browser but Nintendo shut that one down. All there needs to be is a threat and it'll be gone.

Ik will but only if its on sale i think the price is a bit high for a game in that age.

It is NOT illegal to play these games. May be that the service archive.org provides could be illegal, but playing those games is definitely NOT!
I ended up buying these games anyway, because I wanted RtCW also with discounted price!

If an old game is still sold and supported somewhere, it is not abandonware, and downloading such a game without legally owning a copy of it is in fact illegal.
If an old game is not sold and supported anywhere, it is abandonware, and it is LEGAL to DOWNLOAD and OWN it without buying it.
The difference is whether a software is sold and supported, or is NOT sold and supported.

http://www.abandonwarering.com/?Page=FAQ#1B

The only thing the 2006 decision did was that it made abandonware legal.

These games Wolfenstein 3D and Quake 2 are still sold and supported, and as such are not abandonware, ergo downloading them from abandonware sites (or in fact from any other sources without buying them) is in fact illegal.

An article about this with references:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/what-is-abandonware-and-is-it-legal/

I would like to buy the original Wolf3D, SoD, and Quake II, but I don't care RtCW, ory any sh*tesda games. These packages insanely are overpriced, I hope there will be some kind of sale later, but I would prefer to buy these old games separately, for a few quids.

You do not download a game from archive.org. The game stays on their server, you play it in a browser, through a browser, with their online version of DOSBox. This is not a download, where you have usable data on your hard drive after the download.
Didn't Bethesda officially release a free to play browser version? In that case, I can't understand how they can justify making money out of it again.

You never own games even if you download or buy it, the money you give is the right for using the software, games.
If you misuse software they may go to your house and take the software back. So even if the game is on a browser you dont have the right for using it.

You do know that streaming users are not violating any copyright laws at all? The violation is happening on the service providers part, here archive.org!

This ... thing ... about someone coming to my house and taking software back ... yes, i had a good laugh :)
