Just what the title suggests. These two mission packs for Spear of Destiny, titled Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge, were created and published by FormGen Corporation in May 1994. These are collectively known as the "Lost Episodes", because they were sold in low numbers and their existence is not widely known. Each of these, too, consists of 21 levels. The Lost Episodes contain new level textures, new enemies, and new appearances for old enemies.

I know this might be hard to get but I'd love to have these two episodes because I've never played them, and I suspect that most people on GOG haven't played them either.

EDIT: I see that in the description of Spear of Destiny, there's a small blurb about "3 missions". Is this referencing the fact that Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge are included? If so, I think a lot of people aren't going to notice that. I really think you might consider making a bigger deal out of that honestly, because it's a huge selling point. Those episodes are practically impossible to get, so having them available on GOG is a pretty big deal, at least in my book.

These other two missions do appear to be included. They are included in the Steam version as all the data files are present (as mentioned here: http://maniacsvault.net/ecwolf/wiki/Game_data where it says not to run those mission packs through Steam as it renames the data files to a .SOD extension instead).

Also, see this thread: http://www.gog.com/forum/wolfenstein_series/ecwolf_and_spear_of_destiny
It mentions that the GOG version has three sets of folders, M1, M2 and M3 (suggesting the three sets of missions) and comment saying to rename the M2 and M3 files from .SOD to .SD2 and .SD3 respectively, if they are indeed .SOD files, so that ECWolf can use them.

ECWolf should still recognize them anyways, but I am friends with the ECWolf dev, so I will let him know about the gog version of the game.
Can someone how bought the game confirm if GOG version of Spear of Destiny include The Lost Episodes: Return to Danger & Ultimate Challenge?

Without unnecessary speculation please.

I also just made a set up thread for using ECWolf with this release.

I actually did not even know they existed, but I bought the set just for Spear since I had the original years ago and wanted to play it again. When I clicked on the game to start it, a menu appeared with three choices: Spear and the two add-on packs known as "The Lost Episodes". Honestly, it was not until I bought the game here that I even knew they existed, but here they are indeed.

Too bad they were extremely poorly made and these new skins and sounds just awful. Furthermore it's quite easy to get stuck in level indefinitely by pushing the wrong wall, so save often and make a safe point at the beginning of each level. But the worst part concerns the bosses and the plot for both lost episodes ;)

But I wasn't able to finish them last year. This is a good opportunity to finish them off here on my beloved GOG ;)
There is an amazing conversion of all of the Wolfenstein 3D games (including the 'Lost Episodes') into the Doom engine (specifically GZDoom).

http://www.moddb.com/mods/wolfendoom/addons/spear-of-destiny-the-lost-episodes-v10-gzdoom

Honestly I don't touch classic Wolfenstein anymore after the awesome ports. Theres also a really good one for Edge.

The above includes high quality versions of the sprites.

WolfenEdge uses the Jaguar sprites which altered some of the Doom weapon sprites. You may notice the pistol looks like the modified Doom pistol... because it is.

Another conversion for ZDoom again includes remakes of all Wolfenstein 3D games (again including 'Lost Missions') but is much more faithful to Wolfenstein 3D.

I thought there were some issues with the conversions? Secret levels or extro text not working? Something like that?

I was hoping the GOG version of Spear of Destiny would have different packaging and not have the same slowdown issues that I have been unable to fix with the Steam version.
Sadly, Spear of Destiny isn't the problem, it's Wolfenstein 3D that will give you the most headaches since its release history is a complete mess.

The game was re-released on SNES, using assets from both Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny. It has worse graphics than the DOS version, a different plot, different levels, censorship galore thanks to Nintendo, two additional weapons: a flame thrower and a rocket launcher and several gameplay changes, notably it is impossible to sneak behind enemies because they always face the player, and backpacks can increase your ammo carrying capacity up to three hundred.

Later the game was re-released on Mac, featuring the thirty levels from the SNES version as well as the sixty levels from the DOS version (although three of the original DOS bosses have been dropped in favor of bosses from Spear of Destiny), although the game does feature the additional weapons from the SNES version, the cutscenes and briefing videos from the SNES version have been dropped, so has the censorship, and once again, the game features different gameplay changes here and there, like the inability to sneak behind enemies and increased ammo carrying capacity. Noticeably the graphics are in a resolution higher than the DOS version.

More info on the various ports of this game can be found on this page:

Early WolfenDoom versions had these issues, but the new ZDoom ports are amazingly close to Wolfenstein 3D... just with the enhanced features of Doom (textured ceilings and floors, and some floor height varations. Though the floor height variations are obviously fan interpretations of where they should occur).

It all depends on what you want. As close as possible to Wolfenstein 3D? Choose to either use ECWolf or the Wolfenstein 3D TC for ZDoom. Like the Mac graphics? Choose the Edge version. Like enhanced graphics but a bit closer to Wolfenstein 3D? Choose the first port I mentioned in the previous post.

I personally can't stand to play Wolfenstein 3D without any sort of automap so I'm happy playing any variation of sourceport/Doom port.

Hm, you might be right then. As long as the ending credit/dialogue things work then I'm cool with it.

Sounds like a ZDoom port it is.

So all I do is plug in the Wolf3D Wads and play?
