Wiz8 works fine, apart from the cutscenes (introduction movie as well as the short sir tech logo movie). I'm pretty much at a loss what could be the reason for that, as the rest works okay.

I find using XP SP3 compatibility mode cures most ills with W8.

I found a solution after going through various threads about games with bink-coded video sequences, though why it works is a mystery to me.
Seems one solution is to change the battery power setting to "High performance." Which actually worked, though what that setting has to do with the videos, I have no idea. Really odd.
