I created this thread in WC CIC tech support so we can have all WC GOG fixes in one place.

Would these fixes make Wing Commander 3 work with my 360 controller? I can get it calibrated easily (I have the wcjoy.DLL added), but can't seem to figure out how to set the controls, all I can do is spin around and shoot.

you can map the buttons with the dosbox mapper (hit ctrl+F1 ingame)
but to be able to use all funtcions of a xbox360, you need another dosbox version (dosbox svn daum). i did it and working good so far with privateer 2. though you need to manually change the shortlink starting the game to adress the correct dosbox programm and config files. in my case, for example, that looks like_

"C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox SVN-Daum\dosbox.exe" -conf "G:\spiele\Privateer 2 - The Darkening\dosbox_privateer2.conf" -conf "G:\spiele\Privateer 2 - The Darkening\dosbox_privateer2_single.conf" -noconsole -c exit

Is there an already loaded up Ctrl-F1 config like there was for WC1+2? Those worked great for me. Also, where can I find this mysterious Dosbox Svndaum? Thanks holmes!
Edit: Is it better to do the Win95 thing they talk about on the link, or to just stick with the Dosbox setup? There's always a 3-5s delay when loading the FMV sequences, though honestly I can deal with that it if it means the controller works.

Good idea, but please make the link clickable by adding "http://" to it. Also, it would be nice if instead of having people download a custom CFG you could add the information what to change int eh CFG file (usually just a number) in case the link gets broken.

I play all WC games with 360 Controller and Xpadder with multiple profiles.
Search for Xpadder.

Changes to Conf .cfg.

CRUSADER.cfg ,WINGCMDR.cfg : v r c27 z (best Roland MT32 activation)
WC2.CFG: v r816 c25 d1 (best solution for both Sound blaster Speech and MT32 music/effects)
WCA.CFG:r c27 d1 (directly from Setup.exe)

.Conf , I just set midiconfig=0 to all games (if you have more than 1 midi devices ,the number should change) . In Wing Commander 1 I had to reduce Cycles instead of Auto.because in both my Pc`s enabling MT32 ,speeds up the game for some reason

I really appreciate you taking the time to make these types of videos. I played a fair number of DOS games back in the day, but even I could use some guidance.

However, there are a lot of changes you make to the .conf files that could use further explanation. In the videos you make the edits but don't explain your reasons for doing so.

For example, from the Privateer video, why do you change the resolution to 0x0? Why do you decide to use the OpenGL render? And why use 49716 sample rate for every sound option - You had some pretty severe music slowdown while playing with MIDI music but didn't seem to notice.

You also say we should never set cycles to max - Why not?

Hi, I have followed all the instructions above however I am still having control issues when using the 360 controller and XPadder even. Even though I have it set to keyboard when I hit certain buttons it still performs their default joystick functions in combination to the ones I have assigned. Could someone help me fix this?

Also it appears that none of the tutorial videos from "philscomputerlab" are available anymore. Not sure what happened there :(

I cant for the life of me seem to get this emulator to work after adding the ROMs and file replacement. does anyone have any idea where i'm screwing up?
