Det_Bullock: Are you playing the the game through DOSbox or using Darkfix?
hfrank: Doxbox. Was using Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X. It turns out that view changed whenever I twisted the stick, so I went to Alt-O and changed the joystick option from Thrustmaster to Two-button Joystick, and that solved the problem.
I suggest you try Darkfix, that way the game should support at least the throttle to an extent (*) since it updates the game to the windows version, though you will have to recalibrate every time you load the game because for some reason it doesn't save calibration data.
(*) Unless it's one of those games that gets screwy with a joystick with more than three axles, my HOTAS is programmable on a firmware level so I could load a profile that disabled all the extra stuff to use it with the game and I don't remember if I ever loaded the game before setting up the profile using the refcard or manual as a reference (I tend to play a lot of old games so I do certain things in advance just in case), from what I understand the HOTAS X doesn't have such built-in capabilities but you could try using Joystick Gremlin.
