What's the story behind GOG's version of WC3? I seem to recall the original PC versions of WC3 having scanlines on all the movies. But this version in GOG doesn't seem to have scanlines, and appears as if it also have higher quality movie scenes, than were included in the original PC version?

Was this part of a fan mod? Where did they get improved videos?

The scanlines that you are talking about were caused by the INTERLACE option being used from the graphics section of the options screen ( I can't remember which of the option screens carried it). Even back then you could turn this off, the gog version comes withit ALREADY OFF so no lines

I think it was the kilrathi saga version that loaded up with scan lines already on.

lol, you could be right about the Kilrathi saga version as it's the only version of WC3 I had before buying it here on gog.

Looks like the PSX version and 3D0 versions of WC3 had slightly higher resolution movies. You can download them there. Not sure if there is a way patch for 'inserting' the into the pc version or not.
