Hi.

I’m getting an error that says “truncated gzip input” when I unpack the giant (seriously, split the archive into several pieces, please) download. I have narrowed it down to being the AZ10_Cops_01.unity3d file that cannot unpack fully. It is 95 megabytes on disk, and 195 in the archive.

I am guessing this means I’ll have to download the entire giant (seriously, split the archive into several pieces, please) file again, unless some kind soul (mods perhaps?) could help me with just this specific file. Perhaps that would be against the TOS, I dunno.

Haalp?

I'm getting the same problem. When I try to extract the archive I get an "Unexpected EOF in archive" error when it gets to Wasteland 2/game/WL2_Data/Streaming/Scenes/AZ18_Cops_09.unity3d.

EDIT: Actually it looks like we're having trouble with different files. I didn't look too closely at the numbers in yours. Mine doesn't even get to the file you mentioned before it errors out.

That’s too bad. Looks like we’ll both have to download the entire archive again :(
Yeah. I copied it from one drive to another a couple of times before I tried extracting it (forgot it was a native Linux version at first and tried to move it to my Wine directory) and I think that might have caused some problems. The file was only 9 gigabytes instead of 12 when I extracted it. I'll just re-download the archive.

Too bad this didn't come broken up into chunks the way the Windows versions do. Would have made this a lot easier.
Hi,
I've had the same problems when downloading the KS version of the game. The first time the .tar.gz file was only 11.6GB instead of 12GB. After downloading it again it untarred fine and I can play without problems. I'd suggest trying to download again.

It would be great to have a md5 of the correct file on GOG on the download page. Anyway, the md5 of the file that worked for me is as follows:
25d478f4ba14f2b6947def203d29a9e2 gog_wasteland_2_1.0.0.4.tar.gz

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Thanks, I’ll look at that later.
Downloaded it a second time and tried extracting it immediately but still got errors.

I suppose if I just keep trying the download over and over again it'll eventually complete at some point, but considering the size of the file I'd rather not have to do that.

Every time I've downloaded the file my browser reported it to have completed with no errors, so I think the problem is server-side.

EDIT: This is the Kickstarter version of the game, in case that's relevant.

Argh, I feel for you. Luckily, I just had to download it twice. Still took 5+ hours each time.
Trying it with the LGOGDownloader this time; maybe I'll have better luck that way.

Hopefully this sort of thing won't be an issue anymore when Galaxy comes out.
Does anyone know how do you run it?

Clicking start.sh in the Wasteland 2 directory doesn't work :/

I'm still trying to download the game, but I'm thinking it might not have its executable bit set. In Mint you can do that by right-clicking the file, selecting "Properties", clicking the "Permissions" tab and checking the "Execute" box. I'm not sure if that'll work in Unity.

Otherwise you can go to the command line, cd into the game's directory and type "chmod o+x start.sh".

Not sure why they didn't just distribute it as a .DEB like they have for other games; it would have prevented a lot of these problems.
Ah, I know what's the problem.

There is a 64bit Geforce 2gb ram DDR3 I think, but the rest is 32 bit, including the system (eg. Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz), so the game can't comply with that. It's weird as hell, I know - don't ask ;]

It works just fine on Sony Vaio VPCF113FX - i7 1.6ghz, 6gb ram, Geforce 310M - 512mb.

As a matter of fact, it runs faster than on Windows 7 !

The Core 2 Duo is a 64-bit CPU. It could be that you have a 32-bit version of your operating system installed, though. I'm not sure if Wasteland 2 is a 32-bit or 64-bit program, but if it's 64-bit it won't run on a 32-bit operating system, even if that operating system is running on a 64-bit CPU.
Can somebody please explain how to run LGOGDownloader in Ubuntu? I downloaded it. I unpacked it. But I don't know what to do now. IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS NOW AND I CAN'T PLAY THE GAME. Please help.

First find the name of your version of Wasteland 2 like this:

lgogdownloader --list --game wasteland

(This will list every game in your library with the word "Wasteland" in the name.)

Then download the game using this:

lgogdownloader --download --platform 4 --game gamename

with "gamename" as the name you found in the first step ("wasteland_2_kickstarter" in my case.)
