Hey,

so the new version of Wasteland has a track by Mark Morgan which is pretty awesome.

If you're looking for more music to listen to while playing, I wrote a soundtrack for the game last year, with a track for each location in the game.

You can listen/download from Soundcloud here:

https://soundcloud.com/edwinmontgomery/sets/wasteland-2

Or download a zip file of the whole album from my website:

http://www.edwinmontgomerymusic.com/wasteland-2/

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks,
Ed

This is really, really good!

Is this completely fan made? If you don't think there would be legal issues, you should talk to GOG about adding it as official bonus content! (Like a "fan soundtrack" or something like that)

I concur. Loved it!
Anybody know the name of the Mark Morgan track? It's available to us in a .wav with no metadata.

You NEDD to send this to someone Brian Fargo or gog.com to be released with game because its amazing. Im going to have to play this with my game to see the full impact but I could listen to this for hours
While it would be unfair to rule out the possibility that inXile would adopt Mr. Montgomery's exemplary score, they might be disinclined to go through the process of acquiring the license and figuring out royalties, etc. That said, they might be willing to set up a localized music system that plays certain tracks based on where the player is.in the wastland. By default all of these would be set to Mark Morgan's track but, perhaps through a text file, the user could manually point to other music tracks.

Thank you for composing and sharing this, Edman. Really good score.
This Music is absolutely beautiful, it really captures the spirit of the game. it reminds me of the season 3 Battlestar Galactica Music from Bear McCreary, heavy on the woodwinds and mystery, I loved it!

It would be awesome if it could be included somehow in the extras, but even better if it could be incorporated into the re-release of the game. I know that people from InXile read these boards, how about it can it be done?

edmanguy, thank you for releasing it, I have been a Wasteland fan since I played the original on my C64 and this Music really fits.
man, base cochise is such a beautiful track. thank you
Thanks so much everyone for the replies! I originally released this last year, just after Wasteland 2 had been kickstarted (I began work on it the previous year, before I ever hoped I'd see a Wasteland 2).

It's great now that Wasteland 1 is legally available and the game will hopefully find new fans. If a few of them play the game listening to my music, that would make me happy :)

Thanks again,
Ed

This is GREAT!

Seriously you should send those files to W2/F4 developers - it is likely you would get job.

Hello edmanguy,

I have downloaded and have been listening to your soundtrack since last year, when you released it.
And I love it and think is on par with proper AAA soundtrack. I haven´t heard original soundtrack form W1, if there is any, for me your music IS the soundtrack from Wasteland 1. Very evocative of Mark Morgan´s work.

I have to concur with others: approach the GOG, chances are, some of them already know about your soundtrack ;)
I wonder if it's possible to play this music during the game...
In this thread www.gog.com/forum/wasteland_1_the_original_classic/using_gog_wasteland_1_release_on_other_platforms/post3 TheCycoONE says that InXile released all the code. Also, we have Mark Morgan's track playing during the game (I mean that there's a possibility to play music). So, maybe it would be possible to change that code in such way that it could track the place in game and change music theme.
Really, really good stuff!
Good news!

It appears that the latest update adds this soundtrack to the game. The update hasn't yet been released on GOG.com, although it supposedly has been submitted and will eventually be available. The Steam release has been updated to this version.

This illustrates the weakest aspect of GOG, since this update has been available for well over a week on Steam. It must be a pain to patch custom installers. Luckily for old games that aren't receiving official updates this is a non-issue, but I no longer buy new & still officially supported games here. Since I rarely buy new games anyway, GOG isn't missing out.
