To be honest I loved WarCraft 2 and never played W1 so for me this is a brand new classic experience.
It could be even better with intuitive controls from W2.

It works now. It's not the language that seemed to be the problem but the keyboard.

I'm working with an azerty keyboard. I changed to qwerty (shift+Alt) and now everything seems to work.

Maybe you can put this in the release notes.

And I will also add my gratitude, good sir - this patch is absolutely essential stuff. And works like a charm. Only thing I found funny is if you misclick your own unit with units selected (everything worked so good I forgot that it's just a workaround and apparently tried to issue a follow command) - they'll attack it. Had a good laugh when I murdered my last pesant myself X)
Not a problem tho, I can definately live with that. Finally I can attempt a complete playthrough of this venerable dinosaur of a game.

Yeah, I note that in the Readme. Since right-click gives warriors the Attack command, right-clicking on a friendly unit or building will make them attack it same as if it's an enemy unit or building. It's just something that players need to be careful of.

This mousehelper is a godsend for a fossil of a game like warcraft 1. Been using it myself for a couple hours now (did take some getting used to) but I seem to have run into something of a bug that I didn't see in the readme go over.

During the course of the game (I only got up to the orcs third mission but started in the second), it seems that for no real reason my camera will just scroll to a certain direction (twice to the right and once up into a corner) and whenever I right click on the mini-map it just scrolls back into the edge of the map. I haven't been able to find what causes it and so far the only thing that seemed to fix it was exiting the game all the way and going back in.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue and already has a fix for it.

How do you get it working with the GOG version?

i dragged and dropped the files to create the shortcut and all i got was a fullscreen dosbox with "Z:\>"

nevermind i worked it out had to choose War.Exe.

This tool make the game more comfortable, and now I playing the six mission int the orc campaign. However, I found some issues, what aren't very big problems, but if you don't remember about this, it can disturb:

- if you click right and left mouse button in the same time, it minimize the DOSBox

- if you push two buttons in the same time, when you scroliing by WSAD, the game automatically slides to one of map corners

and problem, what I didn't fix:

- saving the game cause problem with choosing units and options (somebody up let know about it)

I hope, that new version in the future will solve it but after all tool making this game more amazing ;)

I solved the problem with saving the game. The solution is

1) After save push Alt + Enter

2) Choose Mouse Helper from Taskbar > Configure > Save. Close the window

3) Alt + Enter again and continue the game
