I was about to purchase Warcraft II when I read a comment that completely disinterested me. The comment was that in the campaign the AI does not buy any upgrades whatsoever unlike the original version, making the game extremely easy and not worth playing at all. Is this true?

I appreciate any replies.

Hmm... Im sure is saw upgraded units. But it possible that AI already have that upgrades\units with some Tier upgrades that available in scenario.

AI is the same like in battle net version, it depend what ai is doing, first upgarde ai will be on mission 6 human, and 7 orc
