I'm really excited to see Warcraft 1 & 2 and Diablo available, but really disappointed to see no Mac version.

One of the things that really earned my loyalty to Blizzard was that they always included both Mac and Windows versionbs of thier games on thier discs. Macintosh was never left behind, and it's the same to this day.

Being that we didn't have nearly as many big name games on our Macs, we spent a lot more time on these legendary Blizzard titles. I'm far from the only Mac user who would really love to play these.

Perhaps if/when Diablo 2 is released.
Warcraft 1 runs under DOSBox so it would work on a mac.
Unfortunately only the windows version of Warcraft 2 is included, if GoG included the DOS version you could use that on a mac under DOSBox as well.
That's interesting to know, but I can't say I love the idea of dicking around with DOSbox to get it to run.
I honestly don't get why they couldn't add the mac version... a mac version of the game already exists, so I don't get why we cannot have it.
I hope that GoG add the DOS version Warcraft II and Beyond the Dark Portal with the full soundtrack and none of the Battle.net visual noise.
I too would love to get my hands on the Mac Version of this classic, come on GoG please get a Mac Version to us soon!!!
+1 for the Mac version...

Because it wouldn't work on today's Macs, it's from back when they used PowerPC CPUs...
Mac emulation is a mess. Even if they could distribute the game with firmware (which would probably be illegal), there would probably be plenty of issues.
Anyone try it with Wine or PlayOnMac?

I just was able to install and launch it from PlayOnMac pretty easily. Use the 'Download offline backup Game installers' option from the GOG Warcraft II game page to get the installer you need for PlayOnMac. It booted up without an issue and I was able to launch a custom scenario without any problems.

Oh good lord, thanks everyone for mentioning PlayOnMac - that was so quick and easy to get going and it works slicker than it does on my Windows machine.
Thanks for the suggestion, will give it a try!
On Play on Mac, which version of Wine are you guys running? I can't get it to install the game correctly, which is frustrating.

I was just going to play Warcraft on my crappy windows laptop, but that laptop has decided it wants to shut down randomly, so I'm trying to figure out how to get this thing running on a mac.

Thanks
