Hello folks.

Is it at all possible to transfer Savegame an Progress from a windows-WFTO to a linux-WFTO? And how would that be possible?

I know it's possible to import steam saves into GOG version, now all I need is to import saves and progress into the linux version.
Hey twostone,

If you go to the Linux install folder you should see a GameData folder. Inside that is the maps folder and then inside that is the saves folder. If you take the contents of the saves folder from any machine and put in in any other machines saves folder you will have all your progress.

This is platform agnostic so Windows to Linux is perfectly fine.
Thank you for your lightning fast reply (honestly).

Already tried that, didn't work. Then, I did the same when finding out where GOG edition puts its savegames: Started a new game, saved, and looked for changes in the directory structure. There is no folder "saves" within GameData/Maps. However, I can still load the savegame, which seemes to be stored in GameData/Maps. The 'Saves'-folder I copied over (again) is still blithely ignored.

A search for the files "WFTO_Progress" and 'WFTO_Tutorial' turned up nothing (after deleting ignored 'saves'-folder again), cpoying them into GameData/Maps did nothing, either.

I'll probably later take a snapshot of the filesystem, bash a few missions, snapshot again and compare diffs. Maybe I'll find something. I'm just a bit baffled, at the moment. Probably need more coffee.

Apart from that, great game, great fun. Been playing this a while now on steam, GOG edition is still a must have though because of the offline copy I can store on my servers and easily and quickly reinstall from there if necessary (bandwidth is still at a premium in some countries), so thanks for that as well.
I'll have a look if I can get it to work on our end, might be that something is preventing it from working
It could have been simply win10. When I copied the saves folder to a machine on win7, it was ignored as well.

However, and what was more important (to meat least), unlockables are stored in ./WFTOGame_Data/GameData. Quite silly to have them stored in plain text and quite a few labeled similar to their achievement-counterparts ingame, but found that one a trifle too late.
Anyhow, the blazing workers made it onto my laptop as well, don't have to do this all over again.

crucible after wave 50 is torture. Waves spawn within seconds. Anything beyond wave 65 is unmanageable (just one large stream of enemies) and the legendary worker can only be unlocked because the waves spawn too fast. At least, that happened to me. I was only able to get that far because I was playing on a Cintiq, and on linux, because the cintiq "click" (pen) will not work with WFTO on windows. Gestures work, multi-touch works, middle- and right click work, but no left click. The crucible is predestined to be played with a graphics tablet or graphics display, it'd be hell with a mouse or a trackball. Good fun though. Could have lasted longer, but since the game cannot be saved...

HoG Campaign: It actually granted me most of the bonus achievements for level four without even having played level four. Strange.

Did you manage to import your steam saves AND progress (campain and/or achievements) into GOG version?
If so, how did you do it?

Savegames CAN be imported (copied manually), progress was a different matter. It resolved itself though, once you start off with your latest campaign save.

achievements (I suppose you mean unlockables) are stored in a plain text file, which can be edited and does not need to be copied. Do yourself a favour though and resist the temptation to gain without earning. You'd miss out on a lot of fun otherwise. And some frustration, which is just the flipside of the same coin.

All the infos you need are contained in the previous posts.
