SInce there's practically nothing about this game that I could find, I thought I'd leave some hints and tips for new players.

What's important to consider when making a character?
Very little. Appearance does nothing in-game, clan symbol is cosmetic as well. The only thing I can say for sure has any effect is what god you pick, and that's because each one has different starting equipment and 1-2 skills in their skilltree already unlocked to start with. You can freely develop your character into any class or role through the game, the god you pick just gives you a very small head start in their skill tree.

What do the different gods do?
Think of the gods as classes. You're free to switch between them at any time, and there's no restrictions on who can equip what items or weapons. That said, having a one-handed weapon equipped automatically aligns you with Tyr, a two-handed melee weapon switches you to Thor, duel-wielding changes you to Loki, etc. The only restriction is that the different bonuses and abilities are only active/useable when you're using the relevant weapon/s.

Should I multiclass?
That's up to you. Personally, I'd put at least a few points in Skathi's skill tree if I'm focusing on melee, and a few points in one of the melee skill trees if I'm running a ranged build. The first boss in particular can be a pain in the backside if you try to fight it solo melee, and you can't really go wrong with having some flexibility.

How do I equip more weapons?
You've got two weapon set slots. The primary set, which is where your starting weapons are equipped, and your secondary set, which is located underneath it. You change between the two sets with X, if you're playing with a keyboard.

Is rolling useful?
Maybe? I haven't really tested it enough, and my current build is a Tyr heavy armor, so rolling doesn't seem to help much. Maybe if you're running light armor, it would be more useful. Dark Souls, this is not.

Do I have to clear a raid to complete the challenges?
No. You get the rewards for the challenges as soon as you complete them. If you have to collect three iron skulls, it registers as complete when you pick up the third one.

How do I get more resources/XP at the start?
Play through the first non-tutorial mission, Hunting the Jokul, making sure to do the three challenges, kill every enemy and open every chest. Don't forget to find all the levers to open the path to the "hidden" chest. Then, when you reach the boss room checkpoint, return to the village from the menu. Everything you've picked up, your blood/XP, gold and resources all stay with you, while the map is reset. Enemies respawn, chests refill, resources are ready to be collected again and, most importantly, the challenges can be completed all over again and the hidden chest can be reached without doing the lever "puzzle" again.

Where can I find resources?
Attack trees, stumps, buildings, barrels, fences and rocks. A surprising amount of the scenery is destructible, and can quickly and easily net you some much-needed resources. You'll know if something can be broken if it reacts, breaks, or makes a sound on the first hit.

Help! I keep freezing and dying!
Keep an eye on the blue bar under your HP. If that maxes out, you start to die. Quickly. It goes down when you stand near a campfire, so you'll be leapfrogging between safe areas most of the time. Certain items, like the Warm Boots, can let you last longer before needing to reach a campfire.
Some areas freeze your character much quicker; your character will say something on passing through these places. The bridges in the Jokul raid, the first mission, have that effect. Also, Jokul Totems will freeze you much quicker when you're near them, so make breaking them a priority.

I used all my healing items! How am I meant to heal now?
How many times you can heal, and how effective each heal is, is determined by the talisman you're wearing.
If you run out of heals, look for fountains with blood in them; they show up on your minimap, making them easy to find. The first time you use one, it fully restores your HP and refills your heals to max. BUT, it only refills your healing items once. The fountains recharge over time, and have infinite uses, but every time you activate a fountain after the first time it only refills your HP.

Hope that helps any new players! If anyone else has something to add, please do! ^_^

On 1) Some bonuses are also tied to which type of armor you're wearing. So if you're battlemagey Odin follower running around in cloth, you probably don't want to spec/2nd weapon into melee since you'll get crushed in melee range, esp. once you get up to giants.

Still, as Odin your main setup spells are ice (long range) and fire (short range), and later stages feature a lot of fire giants (not too much problem other than waiting for ice to come off CD) or ice giants, which are kinda a major problem since it's hard to get your fire spell off in melee range without getting whacked, esp. with the game's problems with animations not matching hit detection.

2) Similarly, heavy armor limits your run speed, and shield limits your roll distance. It's not really a major tactic as Tyr/tank, but other classes will use it more, esp. ranged caster or bow classes.
Usefull tips, must read.
I just noticed an instruction manual in the "backups and goodies" section. Rather basic, but some effort is put forth.

Edit:
I keep an extra cloth shirt and pair of warm boots aviable for when I need to quickly run through exposure areas. Cloth armor has high inate exposure resistance and no speed penitly. The base enchatment of the boots is exposure resistance. Ther is no need to craft these, just keep the best pair that you find. These items are not meant to fight in, just make moving through areas of high exposure a little less dangerious.
