Hi,

Can anyone confirm whether Vikings Wolves of Midgard's online co-op feature works between the GOG & Steam versions?

Found a Vikings - Wolves of Midgard FAQ thread (can't link to it - probably due to this being my first post :) on Steam, which states cross platform co-op on PC, Mac and Linux.
Nothing specific mentioned in relations to the different GOG/Steam versions, though..

Hi everybody.
So actually it works, but as both do not share any kind of friendlist you can only find those other platformers randomly by simply using "Find Game" in your multiplayer menu, as well as somebody random joining your hosted game might be a Steam user.

Maybe you'll make the option to connect to the ip address (and on a non-standard port so that you can forward port in router) ^_^
This issue is game-breaking to me right now! I bought the game on GoG SPECIFICALLY to play with a friend. He bought the game on Steam. How should I have known that distribution patform limits with whom I can play?! This is ridiculous. Do you expect us to sit for 2 hours randomly joining matches until we find each other? Please, fix this!
I totally agree, this is a deal breaker form e too.
It was stated that gog/steam cross platform coop would be possible. That may be technically correct but it was very misleading.
That someone who randomly joins a game can be on the other platform may speed up finding games but it’s hardly useful in any other way. It may even be a disadvantage because if I like playing with that other person I will not be able to find him/her again.

But in the more serious case (I have it on steam my friend has it on gog) it is a real game breaker!
Can you please give us an ETA for a feature to find other players we know on the other platform?
If you can’t do that you should at least accept refunds for this reason or offer keys for people who have it on one platform so they can buy or activate it on the other!

Please respond to this, it is a serious issue for some people!

Thanks for the clarification. Would have preferred it being able to look for a specific known e.g. player id instead of being only locked to it being a random selection.

I would also like to see this. Dev, please add a join by IP option!
Hi everybody.
We are happy for all feedback as well as suggestions and ideas.
Even though I cannot make any promises, I can still forward this to the devs.

cheers
