Using windows 7 the space bar function does not work. I tried switch the function to another key with no results. All other keys seem to be working just fine. Am I missing something here????

Scarlett Rolls
Scarlett can dodge and roll, other to the side or backwards, by pressing the Roll button (Space, X, or []) along with direction control (using the joystick, if available.) This causes Scarlett to dock and role in the indicated direction, avoiding the blow.

I have this same problem: No matter where I map the roll to, it doesn't work. It does absolutely nothing.

You have to complete the first quest (Proper Clothes) to roll.

Think you actually have to get the lesson from Brawler actually? At least that's when it started working for me, but admittedly I didn't try between putting on new clothes and doing that.
