During the tutorial, after I fell next to a fireplace poker, the screen got slightly blurry and just stopped. I waited but nothing happened.

After that, I grabbed the Fireplace Poker and it happened again...

I then checked the controls and pressed E to equip the Poker.

I'm pretty sure those were tutorial pop-ups telling me how to loot items and wield weapons, but nothing appeared for me. Similarly, when I press F5 to quicksave (which I verified works), there is no visual indication of the game saving.

Any idea what's causing this and how I could fix it?

EDIT: And now I picked up a book from a bookshelf and 'read' it and I saw nothing...

Changing this setting did display the 2 tutorial pop-ups in the beginning. Curiously, other pop-ups tend to be visible; I guess it was the blurry screen effect blocking it?

There is still no saving icon when you quicksave (I guess they never implemented one, despite that being common practice since the '90s). Maybe it's because the game is primarily for consoles and you would only have normal saves that wouldn't require any kind of visual cue.

Also the book-reading parts are apparently always just nothing where Scarlett reads a book but nothing is shown to you (unless you check your notes section).
