how should i play the game for my first time?

i just want little bugs as possible

already found a widescreen fix along side the age of redemption at : http://e-mods.net/

is this the perfered way to play?

age of redemption seems to only require the 1.1 patch gog comes with

but i also found the unofficial patch 1.2 at: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/4648/7/

edit: found another site for the unofficial patch 1.2 in case one doesnt work: https://www.fileplanet.com/111533/110000/fileinfo/Unofficial-Vampire-Redemption-Patch-1.2

so which is the better way to go about it?

i also hope this makes it easier for anyone looking for up to date (im totally assuming its up to date) patch/mod/bug fix stuff for this game. i noticed there was no sticky for redemption... which i gotta be honest, kinda confused me

thanks!!

Never EVER use the unofficial patch v 1.2, especially in single player. It will glitch the game. It was supposed to fix some issues with multiplayer games, but it's not something you should ever use lol.

I prefer Age of Redemption, but you should give it a go with the 1.1 first, so you can see the differences. The config app in AoR gives you a lot of control over various aspects of the game, and AoR vastly improves AI, along with allowing the single player campaign in multiplayer co-op mode.

First off, to stay in line with the theme, what he said.

I would have loved to try the MP single player game; I assume that means coterie members are human controlled but, like playing true MP, my staellite connection cannot handle it. I really love living in a remote cabin but it does have its downsides (like I'm freezing my butt off right now with outside high temp today being 21F/-7C and inside never getting warmer then 55F/13C).

i may only play the game once, its too hard to tell, i have way more backlogged games that i could ever beat, ever, i think but i love well told vampire stories.

i was thinking of just doing the most recent AoR 2017 v1.1 i believe is what it was. wouldnt the most recent have the better compatibility and or bug fixes?
i was also interested in playing "plus" so get some restored content and balances.

I have one of those older "breathable" places :) I actually do use straw bales to insulate around the craw space (floor is a meter or so above the ground) . Not really sure what flax is although I have heard of it. I'll have to do a search.
