Curious to know if it's possible to make the text larger as would want to use on a small laptop screen? Thx in advance for any replies

There is no way to scale the HUD as far as I know. However it should still be readable. I attached images in the lowest resolution (640x480). I don't know what your screen resolution is, but if you view these full screen and can read everything then you should be safe.
EDIT: No, changing resolution does not change the HUD size. It only gets stretched if you use a wide-screen resolution.
