Can any one help?
I purchased this game last week but when I try to install the game the progress bar reaches the end but then becomes Not Responsive according to windows task manager. I am using Windows 7 Pro x64 and have tried all the compatibility settings for the installer app to no avail.
If I kill the process It appears that it has actually installed though, however I cant be sure that all the files are there obviously. When I run the game I get to the insert CD key dialogue but I don't have one so I am unable to get past this.
I tried to contact support but have had no response from them since I filed a ticket last Thursday (12th August).
Any one have any idea what to do or is there a CS out there that can help?
Thanks

Hi,
I played the game a couple of times, gog's version, and don't remeber being asked a serial when booting the game.
As for the install problems, maybe try to redonwload the installer as there's a chance you got a corrupted download there.
Oh, what's a CS ? ;)

Downloaded it 3 or 4 times now over HTTP and the GOG downloader, integrity check passes every time but still no joy.
CS is customer service should actually be CSR I guess R for Rep

Ah, ok, i get it now ;)
Have you tried installing the game outside the Program Files folder ? Or installing the game with a right click + 'Run as Admin' instead of a double click ?
You can choose a different install path by clicking on the 'Options' button on the installer.
Edit:
Did you had any version of the game or a demo installed at any point ? If you did make sure all remnants of that install are gone from your system before installing gog's version.
I installed the game to check up on the serial aspect and it doesn't ask for one when starting the game, so most likely installation isn't completed when you kill the installer process through task manager.
Do you have UAC on ? If you do you could also try to temporarily shut it down while you install the game.
Also, make sure your AV isn't getting in the way of the installation process.

Tried all those and always have UAC off.
This is getting frustrating and really annoyed that there is zero response form a CSR
The staff usually doesn't monitor the boards that much.
The ticket system can be iffy sometimes, so if you still didn't get a reply from support i can only suggest sending another ticket.
I'm sorry the game is still not working for you.
Well still no reply from customer support and still no luck installing it, installs fine in a virtual machine but obviously cant run it then.
What a waste of money :(
At least Raptor works ironic considering how much older it is

Install it on an XP or vista machine. Then simply transfer your vampire directory to the Windows 7 machine and it will work. When you launch the game, it will create the registry entries needed. I keep the directory backed up also on an external.

Tried that and had the same problem with no CD key available
My guess would have been that the reason you're being asked for a CD key is because the installer didn't finish. It's possible that the GOG installer extracts all the files and then 'cracks' the game. I'm stumped though if it installs fine in a virtual machine and copying the files across doesn't work.
Well I purchased and downloaded this game last night as normal through the browser. Ran the exe, installed fine - no mention of needing a cd key - and runs fine, 2 hours in now.

Have you tried downloading it through the browser rather than through an FTP site? it does sound like your exe file has not downloaded fully.

Good luck!
