The game is fine but the FMV sequences are all jittery. Sound isn't a problem but the image jumps, kind of like it takes 2 frames forward then 1 back. Any idea what the problem is?
I'm running Win7 Pro 64.

sagespath: Here's my silver bullet. I spent days finding it. Running Windows 8 on core i7. No need to set high performance, use bcdedit for changing timers, or any of those things. Just backup your old binkw32.dll in redemption folder and copy the one into that folder from the link below. Works flawlessly for both video and audio on my machine. Enjoy!

I apologize for using a picture for the link. GOG won't let me post it normally for some odd reason.

BTW: I am running the standard CD ISO mounts available almost everywhere in case that matters.
This worked for me. +rep and thanks a lot :)
I ran across this interesting post searching on something unrelated, but anyway:

I found a solution that worked for me. I had tampered with Direct Draw settings to get other games to work. So what I had to do was that I had to enable Direct Draw hardware acceleration using my Microsoft DirectX SDK (2010). To do it, launch the DirectX Control Panel, switch to the Direct Draw tab and enable hardware acceleration. Standard DirectX do not contain this control panel, you need to download the SDK from Microsoft.

Not sure if this fixes jittery videos, but it seemed to fix crash issues for some people.

Thanks man, this really worked!! i bow before you :D i'm gonna spread the word in another similar thread. Thanks again!!
I know this is an old as all heck thread but I just wanted to chime in and say that the file shown above did not work for me, however it gave me an idea to search my PC for all the available binkw32.dlls with the intention of trying them all one by one.
Turns out there were 55(!!!) distinct files in my PC, thankfully however I decided to sort them by size and start from the biggest one and as luck would have it, the biggest one worked flawlessly!!!

Attached in this post you'll find said version of the file. Just rename it from binkw32.dll.jpg to binkw32.dll and you're golden!

Just an FYI, this one came from the game "Galactic Civilizations I Ultimate Edition".

Problem there was but is problem no more. :)

Works perfectly. Thank you very much.
I have the same problem at the beginning of the game, but the game works fine until i reach Haus De Heux and i have to teleport back to the center. Well when that hapens its all buggy like the video and i see every where my mouse has been and....basically it doesn't load properly any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I know this is old, but I just picked up this game and had the same issue with the videos. After exhausting all the suggestions here, I tried a few other things. What finally worked for me was using a program called DXWnd, which is a program that hijacks the program output and forces it into a window. I'm now running the game in a 1600x900 window and the videos are working perfectly.

I can only conclude that the issues are related to the game stretching to a full screen, as evidenced by them playing fine (though with distorted colors) with the -window option and run perfectly fine in a window through the program I mentioned.

Just wanted to put that here in case anyone else bought the game on sale and is having the same issue!

It worked - once. Every time afterwards, I simply got "...has stopped working" errors, before the intro cutscene. What did work for me, though, is dgVoodoo - which simply involves the copy-pasting of three files into the folder.
