Mmm hi guys I'm trying to disable the AI to cast ANY spell but I seem unable to do that. I've unchecked ALL AI options but my teammate still casts way too much. Any way to disable his spells (and I also suspect he still drinks potions... even if option is unchecked)? Shall I remove spells and potions from his quickbars to disable them?
I think that unchecking the 4 auto-use settings should be enough, but if it isn't... You can check "Use Quick Disciplines Only" field, and then drag the discipline icons out of quick discipline panel. The only way to prevent item usage as far as I know is checking "Use Quick Items Only" field and dragging any "usable" items out of quick item panel.
The amount of spells cast is also affected by the stance setting - AI should act reasonably with it being set to "neutral".
But completely disabling auto discipline casting is not a good idea - you should at least leave Blood Healing.

Thanks for your answer. My fear was that my save was corrupted somehow. I'll check as soon as I can recruit another teammate.
Some options seem to be broken... Neither can I adjust the brightness nor change the AI behavior. Gamebreaking since my party is wasting its blood pool stupidly fast.
The Age of Redemption mod improved AI logic quite a bit. If you want a better AI, check out the AoR Mod.

I did, but I could still not disable autocast. ;(
That is incorrect - You can turn off Coterie discipline use completely in AoR.

The game has a bug where you can't save the settings in the AI Coterie controls. You have to toggle them back on every time you reload a game. This is true for both vanilla and aor, but at least aor includes better AI logic. There are a couple of AI Coterie controls that wont work with AoR; Quick Slots Only & Cast Special options don't have a function in AoR.

But you can use the Age of Redemption config app's options like turning off Complex Coterie AI, Hunting, and Resurrection in conjunction with some of the in-game AI Coterie Controls (mainly the No Auto Buff/Heal/Damage options). Combining all those will turn off coterie discipline use completely in the age of redemption mod.

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna check this out in the next weeks!
Is this why Wilhelm refuses to reload with the incendiary-tipped arrows I've loaded his pack with?
No. You have to equip an incendiary bow to use those rounds - no ammo switching allowed in vanilla. It's a rather lame limitation of how ammo is used, but it's currently being fixed through an ammo overhaul mod planned to be in one of the Age of Redemption updates:

Above video shows early stage progress of ammo overhaul. Will possibly be included in AoR sometime early next year (2015).

That's odd. But I can understand the "you need a magic bow to use magic-ish ammo" mentality.
I can too, but unfortunately, this isn't the case. It's more like using an over simplified horribly gimped ranged combat system. Like I said, the weapons can be fixed through some serious modding.
