The game recognizes the controller, but won't calibrate and has some odd issues.

Before I start, I tested the controller in multiple other programs and it seems to work fine. It also registers and calibrates correctly within windows.

OS: Windows 7 Pro (Fully updated)
Controller: Xbox One (wireless setup)

Issues:

When I go to calibrate the controller, on the first button push, the arrow lights up and then stays stuck "green" rather than accepting the input and moving on to the next button. In the test grid, I notice numerous "!" showing statically and also dynamically as I push a button (I am not sure how the grid is supposed to work, so sorry if that info is useless).

I did try skipping through the calibration and then starting the game. Some buttons seem to work, though they are not where they would normally default (ie the select button becomes a jump, etc...). Basically the controller acts kind of whacky.

Again, I tried to recreate this problem in other games and programs to see if there is a theme to it, but it seems to only be specific to this game.

Lastly, I have this on Steam as well and it has the same issue. This controller worked fine with this program in the past, so I am kind of at a loss here.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you!

During the "green phase" you're not supposed to do anything.
During the "Test grid phase" you should have a picture of a controller at the left side, the buttons/sticks you're supposed to move/hit should be coloured and/or marked with a arrow for the direction, every checked button will get a ! at the lower right. If you just pressed buttons at random you can't finish the calibration, it's like reassigning keyboardcontrolls... if i use W for moving forward and then assign it again for Quickslot 1...most programms will give me a failure notice or just change the assigment.

Aside from this, problems with controllers aren't unusual for Unepic. The developer stated that most rpoblems are caused by supporting software like VJOY, they named one or two controller types that does not work with unepic because ot the API/drivers/2.software/etc.... they need and finally there was some known issue with Win7&10, some detection error that unepic chooses portX or device Z while the controller is plugged to port A and uses device Y...it could be solved by disabling all but one port/device.

I remember some helpapps/backroundprograms that should solve the problems too but i never tested them.

Thanks, I will look around some more.

Something had to change not too long ago. Like I said, I had this game on Steam for a while and this very controller worked fine withoiut issue in its exact port/configuration, yet both the Steam version and this one do not work now. It is odd.

I will keep working on it.,

Thanks again!
