Step 1: Go to the site hosted by the devs of Unepic.
Step 2: Install the version from their site.
Step 3: Copy/paste your save from the GOG Unepic to the dev version Unepic's install folder.
Step 4: Enter the Serial Number you got from your GOG purchase before loading your save to unlock the game.

Now you will have access to Robes. I also had some skill points randomly taken out of Maces and Armor, forcing me to reallocate them. I didn't mind, given that I now had Robes to skill-up. I just maxed that and pumped Fire more. I'll do the proper Orb of Rebirth at some point later.

That's right, it's no longer stuck broken!

Note however that they do have some rebalances and such in place. For one, Gatchan will render armors immune to the Transmute Metal spell, it won't even let you cast after they've been paralyzed. Not sure if it makes a difference if you wait until after doing this to get that pet or not.

Also, a bug: It stole some of my bonus skill points. You can get I wanna say 4 or 5 each from the Book of Wisdom and one of the ghost quests, the one with the name if I remember right. I'm level 15, did both, and after doing this I have 79 points by my count. Have not used Orb of Rebirth yet, and have not gone looking for those quests yet, but yeah it does look like a bug from this method. But it does fix the problem with the Robes skill and gives you access to proper mage staves, which rocks.

Oh and I lost my Challenges. Granted I only had like one or two but still.

That's a clear explanation of the solution to be sure, but could you explain what the robes problem was, for those of us who don't know?

As I recall, the character sheet didn't have a robes skill, meaning you couldn't increase it, thus you couldn't use higher level robes.
I may be mistaken though.

That was fixed a few months ago. Robes works ok now.

Yes, but Rawmilk is asking what was wrong back in July. Don't you love thread necromancers? Not sure if they are better or worse from the normal necromancers...

Thanks for clearing that up. I was scanning the forum for any issues before I bought, which I didn't yet, but plan to soon, especially since I know that everything's fully patched and I don't need to give up the exclusive content for the robes to work.
