Can anyone tell me if there are plans to include multiplayer on the GOG version of Unepic?

I got it on GOG because the game is awesome (and cheap) and I figured with a second version my brother could play multiplayer with me... but then I look and see no multiplayer choice.

Is it because GOG enforces a non-DRM policy that multiplayer (which might be separated with a cd-key) isn't included?

You could download the MP version from the unepic homepage use your gog key and copy your savegame to the new install. Then you can play MP with your brother.

Yepyep, it occurred to me that might be the case so I checked my games and there it was! Thanks.

Apparently you used to get one, but not anymore. If I recall, they stopped giving keys after last August or so.

So how are we supposed to play multiplayer now?

We can't, and there's been no answer from franfistro yet on this, which many have been asking. To play multiplayer right now, the only way is to buy the steam version as far as I know.
That's ridiculous, if they are going to sell the game through alternate distribution channels, then they should take this sort of thing into account. GoG is getting their own DRM-Free version of steam, or at least that's what I was able to determine from their launch video.

A simple - "Yes Multiplayer Unepic is coming for GoG players, its coming out with GoG Galaxy!" This would simultaneously calm fears and give GoG an excuse to talk up their new online gaming platform!

The creator of the game has stated several times that he treats steam as an early access platform, so it gets all the new features at first, so they can be polished. Because of this, GOG (among others) version is more stable, despite lacking some features at first, and with full-working features when they arrive.
I know this thread is marked as "solved", but I don't quite understand. I bought the game on GOG, but if I want to play multiplayer the only way I can is by buying the game a second time on Steam? Am I understanding it right?

EDIT: I've contacted the author and he told me GOG have had a multiplayer version for a couple of weeks now, they just haven't updated it yet (or have other plans I suppose).
