Hello everyone,

Everything is now finished in Unepic (it is no longer in Early Access).
The plans for the GOG version are the following:

MULTIPLAYER

Unepic in Steam uses the Steam libraries for multiplayer and, obviously, they can't be used here in gog. Therefore multiplayer in gog will use other libraries and will be different in the following aspects:

1.- Lobbies & Groups.
There will be no group creation/search to create games (this system is a lobby system from Steam). Clients will connect directly to a created session inserting the IP of the host (like Terraria does).

2.- Servers & Ports.
Servers will have to open a port (61234) to play. Steam does not need this because the communitacion is done through steam servers instead of a direct connection from two computers.

Opening ports will not be necessary in the following cases:
2.1.- Playing in LAN.
2.2.- Using Hamachi.

3.- LAN
Gog version will be playable in LAN without internet connection. This is not possible in Steam.

4.- Lag
In general, the lag suffered in gog version will be much lower than in Steam because the communication is direct instead of throuhg servers. Therefore the gameplay will be much better.

5.- There will not be "Steam Workshop" or the chance to download maps from it because this is a feature exclusive from Steam.

I need to do some changes and check everything works before uploading the gog version.

NATIVE MAC VERSION

The native mac version is almost finished. In fact it's working fine but there is a problem to solve with chinese, japonese, korean and russian texts. This is because the way WIndows and Mac/Linux manages texts is different.
Once the mac version is done I will publish it in the Apple Store and later here in gog.

NATIVE LINUX VERSION

As soon as the Mac version is done we will compile the Linux version and release it here in gog.

Hope this info helps!
Thanks for your's confirmation
Thanks much for the update.
awesome news thanks .
thx for the info :)
Thanks fanfistro.

Imo, this is a step beyond what most game devs do to improve the accessibility of their games and their features.

I find this both impressive and inspiring.

I just bought the game today and was wondering if multiplayer was in the game yet or if we are still waiting on it.
Well, actually the Mac/Linux versions are already available at the Humble Store, as well as in Steam.
Franfistro we are waiting!! :D
Hello!

As promised, I just sent the Windows Multiplayer version to gog staff.
It should be available in the following days.

Oh, Dear God... Thanks Fran!!!
And, what about the linux/mac version?

Really, thank you so much.
I can't wait to try out the multiplayer. Do we use characters from the single player game?
