So, how does this work on Linux? I seem to recall the demo version working well on Linux, but I think the activation process for the full version didn't work. Has this been changed for the GOG version? Also, I believe a native Linux version is in the works. Will this also be offered on GOG, and if yes, will the people who bought the Windows version get access to it?

Not sure on how well it will run on Linux nor anything about a Linux port, the dev himself has a account here so hopefully he will pop in and let us know.

But what I do know is this:
1. GOG does not support Linux and until further notice there are no plans to do so
2. If GOG does decide to support Linux or at least support a distro or two then said version will be made available for no extra charge much like they have done for Mac releases. You buy it once and you will have access to the game on the other GOG supported platforms when available
*bump* I'd love to get this to run on my Ubuntu 12.04 installation.
