I went ahead and chose the uncensored version at first- I've played games like StarCraft, Deus Ex, and XCOM, and I didn't mind them one bit. But this one just seems to have so much unnecessary cussing... Is this really what Spain thinks of the English speaking world? I really hope we don't seem that crass to them...

Regardless, is there any way to change it without doing a full uninstall and reinstall?

Find configuration file (should be here - <path-to-game>\config.cfg). Open it in Notepad and change the <children> value to 1 for +12 or 0 for +16.

Actually, in Spain we cuss a lot. Is not that the game cusses to mimic English speakers, but here the curse words are much more lightweight (among friendly ones of course. If you call SoaB a random stranger, you'll get trouble).
So in a casual context, we (well, I cannot say "we" is everybody in this country, but certainly this is true, at least in my surroundings) drop the F bomb quite easily.
For example, later today I shall be playing P&P much like in this game, and in previous sessions, we chained up to 5 dirty words on a single sentence when things looked grim.

The game was originally created in Spanish, and later localized to English by American people. As javihyuga says, we curse a lot in a friendly way and in typical expressions that have no swear objective, on the contrary, sometimes means good thins, like "of prostitute's mother" that means "it's great!".
Concerning the sight we have of English speaking world, there is a popular oppinion that English has a low variety of swears, just "F**K" and "MO*******ER". Maybe we had this oppinion after watching movies from Scorsese or Tarantino ;-D

I'm playing it on 16+. Didn't even notice all the swearing. Guess I'm just used to it.
