woodface: Here's another question: do rooms in dungeons ever respawn, or do they stay cleared after you kill all the monsters in them? If I leave a dungeon and go back in, the rooms are still empty.

DeathStrike: That's a new feature in Ultima V. When you clear a room it stays cleared forever. If you only partially clear a room it will be repopulated again when you re-enter it. You need to fully clear it out to keep it cleared. Some rooms have secret enemies hidden behind walls to stop you from being able to clear the room out entirely. If you use a morningstar or halberd you can attack them over the walls to clear these rooms out too.
Also I remember a couple rooms where you had to risk taking off your crown for a turn or two to draw out wisps.
Damn. I had a favorite room in Wrong with dragons and 1 serpent and I cleared it last week. I used to farm that room over and over, but I forgot the rooms don't re-spawn if you clear them. Luckily, there is a room of daemons on the 8th level of Wrong that you can do the same thing with. Kind of cheating, but still fun

Yes. Bottom floor of wrong I think. In the room you start in when going down the ladder. Four dragons (or was it demons?) behind each corner of the room. 16 in total. Kill 15 of them using a halberd and then exit and re-enter. Repeat.

Yeah. Though, like I said, in almost all cases you can attack the wisps over the walls with halberds and morningstars if you can't be bothered to draw them out. But even then there are some bugged rooms in which you can't even hit the enemies over walls. I'm thinking of some corner rooms in Covetous specifically.

I kind of wonder if they're bugged. Maybe Gariott wanted some rooms to be difficult or impossible to clear.
