You can use a different scaling engine in DOSBox. In the game's folder is a tool called "Launch Graphic Mode Setup".
Run it and set the Graphic Mode to OpenGL.
On the "Advanced Settings" tab, you can set the Scaling Engine.

Changing the DOSbox configuration file to "scaler=hq2x" (or hq3x) is probably the safest way. Some GPU setups don't like it, but as long as you aren't one of those unlucky ones, it'll apply a smoothing effect to the pixels as it scales the image. It's not perfect, and it'll mostly be noticeable with text and UI boundaries rather than in the game world view.
I use the SuperEagle scaler. It looks the best IMO and use Direct Draw.
