Hi everyone, I fear I have stumbled upon some sort of bug related to the eight talismans and the lava pit I'm supposed to throw them into. To put it simply: they don't burn.
I throw them in the lava around the Slasher of Veils, and they just stand there floating, unscathed.
Am I missing something? Was there something I had to do apart from collecting them?

I remember experiencing that too once, ages ago. Don't know what lead to this, though.

Did you summon and speak to Garamon's ghost?

Yes, I buried his bones and talked with his ghost. I answered "Talismans" and "Lava" to his questions and he asked me to find the Chamber of Virtue and destroy them.

Is it possible you have something in place that isn’t actually one of the talismans? Such as a jeweled sword instead of the sword of justice? I use that as an example because I almost made that mistake. Was about to enter the 7th level when I realized I had the wrong sword mixed in with the rest of the talismans.

I remember the EXACT same thing!!!

What happened with me is that...I had the An Tym spell on. Because I was super scared of the Slasher of Veils. As soon as I saw him, I cast Time Stop, ran in there, and threw all of the items into the lava. They all just floated there...doing nothing.

I was soooo frustrated. Looked at each item. Double checked them. Everything was OK.

Then I noticed the little time-stop icon. I laughed, waited a bit, and after the spell expired all of the items started burning one after another.

That may or may not be what happened with you. But that was a very distinct memory I had, which has always made me check to see if Time Stop is activated whenever I see bugs in Ultima games.
