So the stone is missing - nate the snake tells me to ask at the pub in britain but the barkeep will not respond to either 'stone" or "black" irrespective of how much money he's given. I know where the stone is (plenty of info out there but i just hate having to rely on walkthroughs etc!) so that's not what I'm asking, what I'm interested in in what clue leads one to ask merlin (who has the answer) if not the inn at britain? Is it that one must exhaustively query every character for the stone and hope for the best? Just interested in the logical path to solve the stone's location. Any insight gratefully received!

DeathStrike: Try "black stone".
so simple :) I thought the character recognition limit was 4 in length so didn't even try that. thank you indeed!

i remember the old c64 version was limited to 4 letters in the chat interface except when your asked a direct question ie what is your name its funny when you lose honesty points for misspelling your own characters name XD
