A long time ago, a series of games managed to imbue into gameplay, world and story a series of values and ideas in a way that few other games ever managed to replicate. Let's take a look at the Age of Enlightenment, the trilogy of Ultima games that shook the foundations of storytelling in video games.

Ultima 5 Game poses a very good question. What happens when the foundation of a code of conduct, of a religion, vanishes? Will people remember what it was about? Or will the ideals of that code be corrupted?

Ultima 6 Game brings and end to the Age of Enlightenment, by asking a final and very important question. What if you're wrong? An age that began with the conquest of ones vices now ends with the battle against the greatest threat of all, ignorance. When it is defeated, a new age begins, one where you no longer seek enlightenment, because you are already enlightened, but one where you set about to build a better tomorrow.

I've seen those videos before. The Ultima games are still masterpieces. Simply groundbreaking on the worldbuilding level.

I read in the Official Book of Ultima that Richard Garriot got the idea of having Truth, Love, and Courage to be the primary three principles from watching the Wizard of Oz: the scarecrow was Truth, the Tin Man Love, the the Cowardly Lion Courage.
Great job. I am loving your vids. Found a bunch of other ones I intend to watch as well.
