Also kill enemies in the dungeons, then leave the dungeon. You'll get some HP off that.

The safest way to recover HP is to offer Pence to a King.
The best way is to go into a dungeon, kill a few enemies, and return to the surface. The longer you stay underground and the more enemies you kill there, the more HP you'll recover once you get out.
