I got no sound when playing this game.
I have no problem with the sound during the intro, but at the menu at ingame I got no sound whatsoever.

I play the game in win 7, but running in compatibility mode does not solve the problem.
The sound is simply missing as if I had muted the sound.
Its very frustrating as I cant hear what happening when I'm on missions.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
I tried searching for solutions myself, but found nothing.

Try using software sound. The setting is under Options -> System Options and is called SW Sound. Older games that support hardware sound can be a bit flakey with some newer hardware.

Are you sure we are talking about the same game here?
I can see no such option as you talk about.
When I go to options ingame I got 3 Tabs.

Strategic, Tactical and Miscellaneous

Sound and graphics options are under the last one.
The only sound option have are volume adjustment, Unit messages, and Hardware sound filters.
The Hardware sound filters are for EAX, and its disabled and I cant enable it.


After some experimentation I got the sound working, but I had to launch the game using the Launcher and not the game exe file.
However, I'm not celebrating yet, I had these issues before and launching the game using the launcher seemed to work for a wile and then it stopped working again.

Sorry about that. Just have Aftershock and Afterlight installed at the moment and I forgot that all 3 games have totally different interfaces.

I recently played those games, now I want to play this game.
But the sound issue is making it unplayable for me.

As I said I had this issue before, and I could get the sound working for a while and then it stops working again.

Did you found a solution for the sound issue? I have the same problem..
