To GOG: Is there any chance at all you can provide us with a split installer — 2 MB setup program and 1+ GB data file — so our anti-virus doesn't go crazy scanning the entire file before running it? I'm not interested in shutting down my AV every time I want to install a game. I'm also not clear on why you did this with some games and not others, even games in the same series.

Because they only split up files if they'd be larger than 2 GB. Either you get one file, which is < 2 GB, or at least three files, one of which is the installer with the rest being data. If your anti-virus treats 1 GB installers separately from 2 GB data files that will be used by installers, I'd say that's a problem with your anti-virus.

Well, why should GoG care about a crappy AV that takes an hour uselessly scanning a file you just bought (and should be secure about!)? Turn it off...
