Tyrian 2000 now has a presence on speedrun.com/tyrian2000

We'd love people that enjoy this MSDos gem and speedrunning to come over and join our (small) community

There are already a few submitted runs in 4 main categories (1 Player Arcade, 2 Player Arcade, Full Game, New Game +)

There are also short guides on how to speedrun the game, as well as split files for livesplit, and save games.

Given that this game, like most SHMUPs, is entirely an autoscroller, except for boss fights and between-level menuing, is this game really suitable for speedrunning?

You'd be surprised, there are still ways one can complete the game faster. (Skipping routes, taking alternate routes that skip planets, going to a different fork and so on.)
