This is the first time I used gog to get a game. Me and 3 friends all signed up and bought the game expecting to play tonight. Little did we know you didn't get a key to play multiplayer! This is a f*cking horrible system.

I WILL NEVER USE GOG for games again, and I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't either.

I may suggest you read a couple of threads down, specifically the "connection failed" and "is the co-op working?"I haven't done multilayer but it appears it can be done. Though you may need to contact GOG to get the key.

I shouldn't have to request a key. I bought the game. I should have it. If I would have known, I would have just used steam and paid the extra 10 bucks. Horrible system.

if paying 10 dollars extra to avoid sending an email makes sense to you then OK, but now you know it can be done and they are providing a way, even if it is not your ideal.

Some games have odd requirements and a lot of that has to do with the way the games are made and whatever deals are made with the game owners. I've bought many games here, and over all, it has been the most hassle free experience I have had. In fact I owned this very game for years but couldn't play it because of the copy protection. So I re-bought the game here and now I can play.

Not to your taste perhaps(and that is fair enough) but horrible? Not by my experience.
If I could send an email and get my code within an hour or two, fine. Some people have been waiting weeks if not months. It's a stupid system.

It is definitely annoying, especially because GOG doesn't mention anywhere that that is how it works. You WILL get one, however... I got mine in only a few days. Just make sure you fill out the form properly (from the "support" section of the website) and that the email they send you does not get caught in your spam filter.

I'm not sure why there's such a weird system for getting a multiplayer key... perhaps GOG's licensing deal for the game means they need to distribute keys separately, or it could have something to do with GOG's DRM-free policy.

Anyway, since you already bought the game here, you may as well request the key, and you should get it in a few days. Also, this is the only game I know of on GOG with such a system; otherwise I can definitely recommend GOG for buying games.
