I have both games, but also know that they have some of the worst drm imaginable on them, so i just have to ask so i can be 100% sure... that crap was stripped in this version? i can remove harddrives and ram without the game counting down installs?

if so i will keep this in mind later this year after a few computer upgrades i have planned.

There is no DRM in GOG games. Their policy is NO DRM. From their FAQ:

"What does it mean that games on GOG.com are DRM-free? It basically means that you actually own the games bought at GOG.com. Once you download a game, you can install it on any computer and re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need."

just had to be told, that is easily the worst drm i have ever had to deal with in a game where just plugging in a usb device could tick the counter down.
