Game works great, all options maxed out, but I have no intro nor cut scenes... clicking "two worlds" icon throws me directly to menu... and after creating character and after i press start game ... i show up into temple without any video intro or whatever should introduce me to main story....
I have de-installed any third party video codecs ... ffdshow and xvid codec which were installed with bsplayer free ... video files are inside game directory (can see them without problem using vlc player) ...
Maybe problem is that game isn't installed into default "Program files" directory ... shouldn't be ...
I'm using windows xp sp3 ... latest geforce drivers and had no such problems prior to this game...
Any idea why? Thanks...
I'm having the same problem, and am also using XP-SP3. I don't think that has much to do with it however. I own the retail version of this game ( bought it when it was released in Germany, and imported to UK), and whenever the movies ran I noticed the game disc would spin. Maybe the videos only play off the disc ?
Or maybe the videos have been dropped to minimise the download size ?
Hopefully GOG will address this issue in the very near future.

Hope so... videos are there (in video directory) and are wmv type of files... all of them play nicely in vlc video player... not so inside the game :(
You know that's odd...now I've read your post it's jogged my memory, I remember the early versions of the game NOT RUNNING VIDEOS....maybe a quick visit to the official Two Worlds forum is needed.....

And off I go :) Will report if I found anything useful ...
Found the solution on Steam forums (thanks to LarsaruS) ...
Since I've stopped using windows media player looong time ago ... all I had to do is to install windows media player 11 (had v9 on my computer) .... tried to play movie file inside wmp 11 and it all worked fine without any additional codec requirements ...
Started the game ... and voila ... videos work....
It's kinda silly that game itself doesn't provide needed codecs ... but well... it works now...

And that was the solution, now I remember...sorted. :)
See you in game sometime hopefully, am just playing through Risen on the PC at the moment , so don't really want to mix the 2 games up !

Just for future reference, where you install something doesn't matter at all. =P
I have the same exact issue. No intro, no cutscenes. (assuming there are any others) Does anyone have cutscenes?
EDIT: Oh, well that's annoying. The search engine showed me the first pot of this thread but nothing else... Will try the solution.

For those who do not want to install the whole Mediaplayer, you can download only Mediaplayer codecs and it works as well.
Any other suggestions besides installing WMP11 (which I have)?

OS is XP-SP3, game is installed in D:\Games. Videos play fine in VLC and WMP11.

Obvious suggestion would be codecs, except you can already play them in WMP. I cannot help you with your problem beyond that suggestion, however I can advise that the videos are really not worth having, and will have very little impact on your enjoyment of the game. The main quest is a bit of a joke.

Have you checked the file association to see which program is set to play WMVs ?
I have the same problem. Checked all of file associations and corrected them. Checked all the threads on the internet. No luck so far. I bought the XBOX 360 Royal Edition - there are no problems with the movies there, but I think that I would like to play this game on PC.

BTW - Two Worlds 2 Rocks - My personal favorite for RPG of the Year (last year) it is everything Arcania should have been. Imagine Assassin's Creed (the first one), Risen, Red Dead Redemption, and Baldur's Gate all melted by crafting a unique RPG gem.

Are you playing the PC or XBox 360 version of Two Worlds 2?
